beks brief

Working towards a brief

Working to a brief on a website in the  media sector is very important because people who are looking on the website need to understand what type of brief it is put also what are the requirements for the role within in the media sector. In different briefs there are different requirements and some are more descriptive than others. You must follow what the brief says to meet the requirements and in some you are able to change things within the brief and then it will help you and the employer to make it the best they can for the website or a text book. For example a contractual brief is when they client just needs to sign the brief and they need to follow.

Another type of brief is a Formal brief. A formal brief is a detailed brief which outlines specifications of a finished product. It is well set out and structured to suit a company's needs. It is throughly explained, therefore the company or employee knows exactly what they are doing. With this brief, the client is open to ideas or issued can be raised by the company. However, there might not be enough information for a client to understand what they need to do and therefore produce a wrong product. There could also be financial issues which might need to be sorted out if a case like this ever happens.

This wouldn't be good for a website or text book for the media sector because there will be more opinions and they might want to negotiate with their employees. The requirements of working to a brief find the one which is best for you and talk to your employees because within the creative media sector it is important as there might be a change and you must read the slowly and correctly in case there might be a mistake or you don't agree with something on it. You need to add everything what is on the brief because everyone will be looking at it and they want it to be as creative as they possibly can. With a website you can add your own ideas but there will be things which the employer will want to be added as well.

Lastly, there is a Co-operative brief. This is a brief given to two or more companies contracted to work on the same assignment. This is a brief which requires multi-skilling from different employees from different companies. However, one of the only troubles that can affect definitely.  This can not only rush the product but also make it a bad product. With this brief, along with the skills, there can be different perspectives when negotiating with this brief, which makes the brief somewhat easier. However, whilst negotiating, there would be plenty of disagreements and may take a while to get to a final brief overview.

31.1 community media

Social action media is a informative piece which aims to promote and create a positive changes in whether it is in a national or worldwide, the whole purpose of Social Action is about creating an impact and change also this can be targeted at the rest of the world or the community.
Without Social Action there are some things which we would have never seen or heard of before. The reason being awareness wouldn’t have been raised by doing a video. Social Action also helps awareness on issues which may be affecting the community or the whole country. The topics which are usually dealt with in social media are racism, drug addiction, alcoholism, and politics. These productions which are done at national level will be more detailed, thoroughly planned out and have more of a budget compared to the ones which are done at the local level. While they are making the national they have to think of the marketing and distributing because the whole country is going to end up watching it. An introduction to what the problem is to try and grab the audiences’ interests to hopefully get them on side with the campaign. Social media is like the main way to find or target your target audience because nearly everyone these days uses social media. For a start you could put your video on YouTube which allows you to find your target audience more demographically.
Purpose:
The purpose of this is to raise awareness for people smoking around their children because the children are imitating their parents. The parents are shown trying to protect their children by hiding their smoking habits
Techniques used:
The production has got lots of two shots to show relationships between parents and   children and children acting as their parents. They have used this throughout because children want to be like their parents and they pick up on things they do and copy. The video is filmed from a child’s perspective
Impact:
The impact makes smokers aware that children copy things they do and also not to smoke around your children because it will make them want to smoke to. These attempts are unsuccessful and the ad ends with a child standing in front of the mirror pretending to smoke, using a crayon as a cigarette.

kony review

maybe Jason Russell's web-based film Kony 2012, calling for international action to stop the Ugandan war criminal Joseph Kony, can't be considered great documentary-making. But as a piece of digital polemic and digital activism, it is quite simply brilliant. It's a slick, high-gloss piece of work, distributed on the Vimeo site, the upscale version of YouTube for serious film-makers. And its sensational, exponential popularity-growth on the web is already achieving one of its stated objectives: to make Kony famous, to publicise this psychopathic warlord's grotesque crimes: kidnapping thousands of children and turning them into mercenaries, butchers and rapists.
It does not stick to the conventions of impartial journalism, in the BBC style. It is partisan, tactless and very bold. But it could be seen as insufferably condescending, a way of making US college kids feel good about themselves. And is Russell scared to come out and admit that effective action entails an old-fashioned boots-on-soil invasion of a landlocked African country, with plenty of collateral damage and civilian death?

A3 styles , conventions and techniques

Styles: In this music video one of the styles that was used is narrative, the images used in this video tells us about the story line witch tells us a bit about whats going on in the music video this insures that know one would be confused about with the imagery and the lyrics, in this video it looks like they are one holiday, having fun and drinking, another style used in this music video was impressionist, this tells us about the mood and the atmosphere in the video witch is a party vibe, plus the use of cutaways is used to go in time with the beat for the song, because of the use of the cutaways it tell us that this music video is a up tempo and fast song.
Camera Techniques: In this music video their is a lot of camera techniques in it shot as close-up, medium shot, cutaway shot, long shot and extreme long shot and long shot in this video long shots was used, they use this to focus on that one image/artist and to let the viewers know that he is one of the most important people in the video plus this will insure that you would not forget the artist.
Conventions and techniques:Focus on performer is one of the techniques used in this music video the convention this video uses is that they focus on the artist by close ups and mid shots.

Another technique this music video would be using Lighting and colour in music video to create a bright fun atmosphere in the video.

Style: In this next video I'm analysing , the former rapper makes a great impressionist , narrative and also an interpretative style too. In this music video the scenes and the atmosphere changes from time to time depending on the lyrics and the mood of the  music video , however, the tune makes several cutaways with imagery and pace in the flow of their voices too. By doing this style it often  means a significant thing either a establishing shot or to show the mood or tension between the past or to add more of an effect . In this case its got a good affect on the music video.

camera techniques
In this music video their isn't a lot of camera techniques their is alot of close-up, medium shots in this video hey use this to focus on that one image/artist and to let the viewers know that he is one of the most important people in the video plus this will insure that you would not forget the artist.
